  The first time I went to see Dr. Shatkin, I left feeling hopeful that he would be able to help me with my extreme sleepiness. He spent a long time with me and was friendly, compassionate and put me at ease. He sent me for a sleep test. The 2nd time was to review the results. At the appointment he was very different. No eye contact, looked down typing while he rushed through the visit. He ordered the medication and told me to come back in a month. That appointment I felt no compassion, no eye contact, he looked down typing away. He didn't seem to care about my concerns with the medication and acted very annoyed that I had so many concerns and questions. I also explained I did not want to continue on one of the medications as it was making me worse. He then ordered me that medication again. I wondered did he not hear me just now. Next appointment and my last appointment was the same feeling. He presented extremely annoyed that I told him I didn't think this was the medication for me. With no eye contact, looking at his typing, he says, fine, I guess well just stick to the other medication (the one I told him I also didn't want 2 appointments ago.) I thought I was in the twilight zone. He made me wonder, "why is this guy mad at me." It also made me think, "is this guy getting kickback from the company that is making this serious medication, why is he so perturbed by my not wanting it?" I asked him if there was anything else we can look into, other testing, blood work etc. He said no, there's really nothing else we can do. Ill see you in a month. Needless to say I will not be going back. I left feeling like I did something wrong to make him angry with me. I know I didn't but that's how he made me feel. I read reviews like crazy before I do anything. The reviews were good and he has been in New Jersey publications with positive accolades. I only write reviews when I feel passionate in a good way or a bad way. I hope this helps.

  I followed Dr. Shatkin to Paramus. He and his staff are pleasant snd concerned about my health. He has kept abreast of my breathing issues for the over 20 years and we have gone through four generations of sleep apnea solutions.
